Unsure of what was ahead of me , unsure of how I'd handle the unsureity, almost ready for anything I drove to the Mississippi Gulf Coast to ride the Beach, after all, it's summer, weather was great, time was right, I was right.. Stopped in Waveland and spoke to the Buccaneer park Ranger , Bikes are welcome anytime, small charge, proceeded to Bay St Louis, found a bed and breakfast belonging to a friend of a friend, excellent place, rested that afternoon, planning to ride next morning. gathered intelligence from other guest, people at the restaurant, anyone I could befriend, I'd been on the coast many times but never on a bicycle, heard of a new boardwalk on the beach made of concrete and high above the white man made beaches. Slumbered in peace, anticipation, hoping for good weather, friendly traffic , and a healthy heart to carry me . Bringing an enormous inventory of Creamy Peanut Butter and  Cherry Jelly sandwiches , trail mix with M &M's , Chocolate chip cookies, bananas, Navel Oranges, raisins, and Gatorade, I was ready for the duration, prepared for famine , pestilence, heartache, and attacking marauders from Mars. Started out around 8ish, first trick to cross the Bay, big, big big, beautiful new bridge, a ten foot wide bike, walking,  running path cement blocked  off from the highway 90 traffic, gorgeous, something I'd like to see on the Lake Causeway instead of more signs. Across the Bay of St Louis it took about 2 miles of Hwy 90 before the boardwalk appeared, yes,  it was a cement boardwalk, nice, a little sandy but not enough to slide in if you pay attention, We're starting the day off with some Neil Young and Crazy Horse, 3 Doors Down and Staind, Black Crows, loud as my MP 3 player goes, it's hypnotizing, mesmerizing, and driving me to where I want to go ,  to the back side of my mind where the sun and real thoughts never shine.  "Hello CowGirl in the Sand",  "Its been a While", "She Talks to Angels",  "Round Here",  great music, can't live without it, it drives me , it soothes me , it guides me , it makes me.The Gulf sun warmed my soul, the gulf water warmed my eyes, the gulf sand warmed my feet and the gulf
air salted my skin,.
